An authentic American-made powerhouse from San Luis Obispo, California, this Ernie Ball Music Man Sterling 4 HH pairs the legendary punch of Music Man electronics with the sleek, contoured ergonomics and fast neck profile that define the Sterling platform. Unlike the larger StingRay body, the Sterling features a slightly downsized, sculpted ash body and a slim 1.5" nut width that delivers effortless playability across all 22 frets.
This model is outfitted in the versatile dual-humbucker (HH) configuration, featuring two proprietary Music Man ceramic humbucking pickups paired with an active 3-band EQ (Treble, Mid, Bass) and an intuitive 5-way blade selector switch. This setup unlocks a massive palette of tones—from classic aggressive Music Man bridge growl to punchy split-coil snap, hollow jazz-like neck warmth, and thick dual-humbucker thump.
The neck is carved from select maple with Music Man’s signature gunstock oil and hand-rubbed wax finish, mated to a dark rosewood fingerboard and anchored via a sculpted 5-bolt neck joint for maximum sustain and heel clearance. Hardware includes a heavy-duty chrome-plated hardened steel bridge plate with stainless steel saddles, Schaller open-gear cloverleaf tuning machines with tapered string posts, and a rear quick-release 9V battery compartment.
This bass is in excellent, fully operational cosmetic and playing condition, showing only minor signs of handling wear. It has been bench-tested, cleaned, and intonated, and comes complete with an Ultimate Support padded gig bag featuring backpack straps and front accessory storage.
