Combining pure vintage Tweed-era tone with mid-century audio heritage, this Custom Hand-Wired 5F1 Champ Clone Tube Guitar Combo Amp is housed inside an authentic vintage 1950s–1960s DuKane projector sound system carrying case. Originally manufactured in St. Charles, Illinois, by the Dukane Corporation, this rugged case features classic black textured pebble-grain leatherette, contrast perimeter stitching, heavy-duty suitcase drawbolt latches, and the original red-arrow DuKane nameplate.
At the heart of the build is a point-to-point hand-wired single-ended Class A tube circuit based on the legendary Fender 5F1 Tweed Champ. Renowned for touch sensitivity, harmonic rich cleans, and thick, singing tube saturation when pushed, the amplifier keeps the signal path pure and direct. The top-mounted brass control panel includes an instrument input jack, a single master Volume control, an AC power toggle switch, a screw-cap chassis fuse holder, and a vibrant blue pilot jewel lamp.
Rather than running through a small, boxy 8" speaker, this combo is equipped with an English-made Celestion Silver Series V10-60 8-ohm guitar loudspeaker mounted behind a circular front baffle with gold sparkle grille cloth. The 10" Celestion driver tightens up the low frequencies, broadens the midrange punch, and provides outstanding clarity for recording, home practice, and studio tracking. The interior is insulated with reflective thermal/RF acoustic shielding, and the hinged clamshell cabinet opens cleanly via top latches for quick access to internal components.
