3D-5: patented 5-string bass bridge

  • The roller bridge saddles reliably minimize string breakage while maintaining intonation and tuning stability.
  • 3-dimensional adjustment of string height, intonation and string spacing (with roller bridge saddles).
  • String rests with shafts and rollers made of solid and uncoated Pure Sound brass for excellent sound transmission.
  • The individual string intonation is set by adjusting the string saddles.
  • Heavy and precise construction for extra long sustain.
  • Complete with 3 mm spacer.
  • The guitar or bass strings lie on low-friction roller saddles which prevent the strings from breaking.
  • The roll widths are optimized for the standard mood B-E-A-D-G.

Advantages of Pure Sound brass

  • Due to its softness, brass is an ideal saddle material and offers sufficient resistance to the strings.
  • Uncoated brass saddles (plain or notched) can be easily customized by the guitar maker with a saddle file for smooth transitions.
  • Form-fit support of the components in conjunction with improved string contact thus supports playability, intonation and sustain.

Technical specifications

  • String spacing (E-A): 65 - 70 mm
  • String spacing individual (neigboring strings): 16 - 17.5 mm
  • String radius: adjustable from 7" -  20"
  • Minimal G/d string height above body: 12 mm
  • Height adjustment: 5 mm
  • Maximum string gauge: 0.135
  • Weight: 212 gram, 274 gram with accessories
  • Conversion for left-handed: Unscrew the string saddles except for the middle one and screw them back on exactly in a mirror image. Then the different rollers for the different strings are in the correct position again.
  • Height adjustment screw: grub screw with conical point with hexagon socket M3 x 8

About buzzing on roller bridges:

The string spacing can be adjusted very precisely by the rollers. The roller moves at a minimum distance between the roller and the roller thread in accordance with the standardized manufacturing tolerance. It is therefore recommended that once the string spacing of the roller has been successfully adjusted, it should be secured with thread locking adhesive for threaded connections (e.g. Loctite 242 or similar).

Advantages of threadlocker adhesive

The hardened adhesive between the close-fitting metal surfaces of the roller prevents

  • unintentional displacement of the rollers and
  • vibrations caused by the string vibrations.

In addition, the adhesive can usually be removed to allow the rollers to be moved again. Always observe the adhesive manufacturer's technical data sheet!
